CHARLOTTE PLATT Born in Guildford Surrey. Charlotte or Lottie as she likes to be known has always had a passion for horses from a very young age. Born into a family where father Sven raced cars, brother Nicolas competed at World Championship level Downhill Mountain biking and mother Sarah who had competed in low level eventing, now ran a chain of toy shops. So competiveness, determination and a strong work ethic was common practice in the Platt household. One little pony ‘Wilf’ soon developed into a string of young ponies, which Lottie learnt to produce, train, compete and eventually sold to continue her hunger for success. Success continued through the pony ranks onto junior under 18 rider level, where she gained successes at the European championships in 2006 & 2007 with a Team Gold & Silver and Individual bronze medals with Lacanda, who was purchased from Lee. Lacanda also went on to win a World Cup Qualifier in Slovenia and compete in the Olympic Trials in Wellington, Florida. She proved to be a valuable member of many nations cup teams inc. winning Lisbon 5 star and Czech 4 star. Producing horses has always been the approach that Lottie has taken, this resulted in a career high producing Paulien, who was purchased as a 6 yr old jumping 1.20m to jumping all around the world and in particular jumping the only Double Clear in the Super League Nations Cup at Hickstead in 2008. Paulien, and Lottie were then long listed for the Olympic Games in Hong Kong. Having competed all over the world Lottie knows what it takes and still has the drive to compete in top level sport, producing horses and training riders from her base in Wineham, West Sussex. LEE WILLIAMS Born in Wrexham, North Wales, Lee was born into a horsey family and was surrounded by horses from a young age. Lee followed his elder sister Sarah into the show pony ring, boredom soon hit Lee so following a showing competition which involved a small course of rustic fences, known as cradle stakes, Lee decided Show Jumping was the way he wanted to go aged 8. Little did Lee’s parents know that within a few years their farm in Mold, North Wales would be full of showjumping ponies. Hard work, lots of training and travelling around the UK, success followed through 128cm, 138cm and a brief spell on 148cm ponies. At the age of 14 Lee moved on to horses and made a quick transition resulting in travelling and competing in European under 18 competitions all over Europe. At the age of 15 Lee was a member of the Gold Medal winning British team at the European Junior (Under 18) Championships in Switzerland also gaining an individual silver medal. The following year in Hungary Lee was once again a member of the Gold Medal winning team and went one better individually winning the Gold medal and becoming European Junior Champion riding Zerano 3. Following these successes horses were bought and sold to allow Lee to continue competing. More medals followed at young rider level, in particular Lacanda who was on the Gold medal winning team at the European young Rider championships in Portugal. Lacanda went on to compete on a senior nations cup team in Czech. Lacanda was later sold to Lottie who achieved great success on her. She is now one of our much loved broodmares here in Sussex, where we look forward to competing her offspring. In the following years Lee continued to develop his business Lee Williams Sport Horses, producing horses for high level competition and sales, Along with the training of horses and riders of all levels.
