Manor Farm Equestrian

Fordingbridge,, Hampshire
The Owners of Manor Farm, Vicky and John Burrough bought the premises in 1986. The Farm was originally a cattle farm with 214 acres of grazing. A need was recognized for livery services within the Damerham area and in 1998 work began to transform the farm in to a livery yard. arena-jumping By the year 2000, the yard boasted an all weather Olympic size outdoor school together with livery services for over 40 horses. At the beginning of 2013 the yard management was taken over by Vicky and John’s daughter in-law Dani. Dani has grown up with horses and worked previously as a horse trainer and runs a sports pony stud. She continues to offer schooling and backing for horses and ponies as well as running the livery yard. Her aim is to carry on the original ethos of Manor Farm Livery: providing a good quality livery service in a friendly, fun and relaxed environment. Horses in for schooling or for sale on behalf of clients are kept at Manor Farm livery yard, which is based in Hampshire near Fordingbridge. See Livery for details and pictures of the facilities and the beautiful countryside. Horses and ponies are schooled, long lined, lunged, worked from the ground, lunged with a passoa and hacked out. Dani is also happy to take your horse or pony to competitions in order to give it valuable experience and a competition record. Horses kept at Manor Farm livery on any livery type can be exercised or schooled as required by livery owners. Dani has competed successfully in many disciplines from show jumping, dressage, showing and one day events to Price Phillip Cup, mounted games, Trec, side saddle, hunting and team chasing. She has competed at county and national level in various disciplines and competing at HOYS in the Prince Phillip Cup was one of her favorite achievements. From the age of 12 Dani has been riding for other people, training and competing their horses and ponies as well as her own in various disciplines. At sixteen Dani worked with a horse behaviorist and gained valuable experience and knowledge which she still uses today. She uses a variety of methods from traditional BHS methods to various natural horsemenship ideas when training as what works for some equines may not work for another depending on their previous experiences, current training and attitude. Dani has ridden and competed many types and sizes of horses and ponies from Shetlands to 17.2hh warmbloods. She believes that riding a variety of horses and ponies and doing various disciplines improves your riding and ability to train the horse as an individual as no two equines are the same. She particularly enjoys working with young horses and ponies, from ground work and halter training to backing and bringing on. Also, she finds working with difficult or problem equines to give them a chance and a career particularly rewarding. Dani takes in horses and ponies for backing, bringing on, schooling, selling, re-training and groundwork.
