Equine Physiotherapy My fascination with animals has spanned a life time. My passion for everything equine since a teenager. I have spent over twenty five years competing numerous young horses in showjumping. Training two future international Grandprix winners from 3-7 yrs old – Kepi D’Elle, ridden by William Funnel and Robin V ridden by Geoff Luckett. This has given me an insight into both the psychology and physiology of the equine. Flatwork is all important in the young horse’s education in any discipline, it not only instils obedience but also, more importantly, builds the correct muscle base to execute the given task. The adage of making sure your horse is “straight” cannot be emphasised enough. From here physiotherapy was a natural progression. It has furthered my knowledge of the inner workings, to enhance the horse’s athletic ability. The combination of established competition rider and physio, is a unique position. It gives a better insight into both competition injury and fitness. It gives you the opportunity to have your horse assessed under saddle as well as on the ground. Advice on ridden fitness and training can be given along side physical assessment and treatments. I qualified with merit from the College of Animal Physiotherapy. Mentored by the reknowned Sherry Scott MBE. I am a member of IAAT and fully insured. I now offer Equine Physiotherapy in the Guildford, Surrey area.
