Newbury, Berkshire
A historic part of the Benham Estate, the stud has been in operation since 1793. The 32 loose boxes are the original stables and are considerably more spacious than more modern designs. Set in 120 acres of rich grassland, the tranquil setting offers ideal housing to those looking for breeding, convalescence or training livery. With over 20 years experience your horse is in safe hands. On site, the stud is fully equipped with complete AI and Embryo Transfer services and broodmares are welcomed on a long or short term basis. There a currently five stallions permanent residence at the stud with a number more visiting for dummy training or walk-in collections, carried out by our fully trained AI Technician. Throughout the year the stud has a number of long term clients who send horses for rest, recuperation and retirement. Stabled or grass livery is available with numerous options to support post-injury or post-operative care. Liveries are welcome to use their own veterinary practitioner or recommendations can be made upon request. Horses are taken for training livery from backing and breaking to reschooling and sales preparation. The stud can provide references for previous training liveries for multiple disciplines. There is a professional backer and breaker on site who produces safe, confident and balanced horses for clients throughout the year. Aside from the main stud, there are Polo facilities with a professional player and high goal staff from Argentina and the UK on site. The polo include stables, polo pitch, dirt exercise track of one mile and individual corrals. The team are here to take complete care of your polo pony or just to help out when needed.
