AP Eventing - Alexander Peternell

Highworth, Wiltshire
About Alexander Born in South Africa in 1981 Alexander attended the National School of Arts training as a ballet dancer. His passion for horses came about in his early teens when he rehabilitated a rescue mare from SPCA, who later went on to win the FEI Pony Show Jumping Championships in South Africa. At just 17 years he travelled to Germany and was based at Paul Schockemöhle yard gaining invaluable experience with competition horses. He developed this knowledge at the Liberty Stables in Holland where he competed nationally in Show Jumping before finally settling in the UK in 2001. He ran his own competition and livery yard in South Gloucestershire and this was when he commenced his Eventing career in June 2004. Since 2008 Alexander has regularly competed at FEI 4* events both nationally and internationally. His greatest achievements are representing South Africa at the London Olympics in 2012 and World Equestrian Games in 2014. He is currently based in Wiltshire and runs a competition yard with his wife Suze.
