He is the only quality approved Cleveland Bay Stallion in North Yorkshire and the current holder of the King George cup. . Berry is a Bay with black points standing at 16.2 with a substantial 10 inches of bone. He is powerfully built with excellent . conformation, he is very active with a good straight movement. His temperament in or out of the stable is unquestionable. When shown in hand he has won on numerous occasions. He was placed champion at the Royal and Great Yorkshire shows. In 2012 he won the prestigious King George V. cup for the best premium stallion in the United Kingdom. Some of to days part bred's have been successful in many disciplines, for example spring Pascal, (Dressage) Aron tor, (Dressage) Take the Biscuit, (Ridden Hunter) They have also been successful in the Cuddy finals at Hoys. David Barker and Harvey Smith represented the UK. at the Olympics on part bred Cleveland Bays. Berry has frozen semen stored by the rare breeds survival trust for future use to enable the continuity of the breed. The Cleveland Bay is classed as category one on the rare breeds list. The breed being rarer than the giant panda. Her Majesty the Queen is the patron of the Cleveland Bay Horse Society. To support the breed on state occasions Her Majesty uses pure bred’s and part bred’s to draw the state carriages. The Cleveland Bay is a true Yorkshire breed, generating from the area now known as Cleveland, stretching from Middlesborough on the river Tees down to the north of Whitby. The breed is ideal for the true professional or as a family friend, and Berry is no exception, being handled by both sexes and varying age groups. The Cleveland Bay has proven to be very popular especially in the United States, Australia, New Zealand and Japan. Being appreciated for their temperament and ability.
